Core Gameplay Changes from Pac-Man

1. Isometric View:

   • The game uses a tilted perspective, giving the maze a 3D effect.

   • Mazes scroll instead of fitting entirely on one screen.

2. Jump Mechanic:

   • Pac-Man can jump to avoid ghosts.

   • Not all ghosts are equally jumpable — later enemies can also jump!

3. Bigger Mazes:

   • Mazes are larger than the screen, with scrolling following Pac-Man.

4. Ghost Variety:

   • Standard ghosts return (Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde).

   • New ghosts include:

     • Funky (faster ghost)

     • Spunky (can jump, making them more dangerous).

5. Level Themes:

   • Multiple visual settings: Block Town, Pac-Man’s Park, Sandbox Land, Jungly Steps.

   • Later loops get faster and more difficult.

Scoring

• Eating pellets = 10 points each.

• Power pellets let you eat ghosts (same score progression as Pac-Man: 200, 400, 800, 1600 points).

• Bonus fruits/objects appear for extra points (varies per stage).

• Eating all pellets clears the level.

Strategy Notes

• Jumping is great for escaping ghosts, but:

  • Ghosts can catch you mid-air if timed wrong.

  • Spunky ghosts can jump too, making late levels tricky.

• You can chain jumps to cross multiple ghost paths.

• Because the maze scrolls, enemies can come from off-screen.

Legacy

• Widely ported to home systems (often with reduced graphics or maze detail).

• Considered one of the last big “classic” Pac-Man arcade titles of the 80s.

• Inspired some modern 3D Pac-Man reimaginings.
